Opinion by: Tracy Jin, chief operating officer of MEXC While Ethereum remains the core infrastructure for DeFi and smart contract innovation, it still hasn’t solved its most significant promise: mass adoption. After nearly a decade of development, Ethereum-based apps are still too complex, fragmented and expensive for the average user. The Open Network (TON) is betting on a completely different future, and that’s already unfolding inside Telegram. With over 900 million users globally, Telegram is the largest active social layer in crypto, and TON is the only blockchain natively embedded into it. European complaints about the trade agreement they just signed with the United States are almost universal. But will the tariffs America has imposed on half the world be effective? The issue is highly controversial, and the consensus is that they possibly won’t be. Clearly, they are a US gamble to fix its economy and signal both domestically and internationally its determination to do so. Once that decision was made, what can a weak and divided EU practically do? Perhaps the real point of the US-EU trade deal is that it came immediately after China and the EU failed to reach…

The most epic reverse colonization in history happened with a handshake. At the Scotland Summit (July 27), European leaders queued up to sign away their continent’s economic sovereignty while cameras flashed and everybody smiled. The irony would be breathtaking if it weren’t so tragic: the heirs of empires that once carved up Asia and Africa with fountain pens have themselves been carved up by an American president with a Truth Social account. Donald Trump’s genuine achievement is that the law of the jungle has been consecrated as legitimate in international relations. What makes this transformation particularly grotesque is how willingly…

Older adults who participated in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, had a slower rate of cognitive decline than people who were eligible for the anti-hunger program but didn’t receive benefits, according to a study presented Wednesday. Although many adults begin to mentally slow down in midlife, researchers found that people over 50 who participated in SNAP, which helps people with low incomes afford groceries, had a 10% slower rate of decline in their memory and thinking skills compared with their peers. That’s equal to gaining two to three additional years of cognitive health over 10 years, said Linlin…
