The exhibition project of the “Signature of Nature” awareness project, which was spent in a dream of Gönyeli-Alayköy Municipality, was held yesterday at the Social Activity Center of Gönyeli.
The exhibition, which includes the works produced by participants from different age groups, will be open to visitors until Thursday, July 31st.
According to the statement made by the Municipality, the Mayor of Gönyeli-Alayköy Municipality Hüseyin Amcaoğlu and Gönyeli-Alayköy Municipality Environmental Advisor. Dr. Şerife Gündüz made a speech at the opening of the exhibition and emphasized the importance of the project that combines nature and art.
The exhibition, which brings together photographs, paintings and ceramics, includes the frames of 12 photographers, the drawing and ceramics of SAM trainers and trainees.
The exhibition stated that local species specific to Cyprus are aimed at making them visible from an artistic perspective. In addition, the giant Flamingo figure created by the artist Victoria Lazari-Özün, one of the recycling materials collected by children within the scope of the Green Schools Project, draws attention.

Prof. Dr. Gönyeli-Alayköy Municipality Environmental Consultant Prof.Dr. Dr. Şerife Gündüz explained the project in which nature and art meet.
“To tell nature is actually to tell life.” Gündüz said that their intentions were to make the local species of Cyprus visible, to strengthen the connection of the people with nature and to bring scientific knowledge together with art.
Referring to the production process of the project, Gündüz said that the exhibition is not only a result, but also the process itself is instructive and transformative.
“The materials that children reveal with recycling were reborn in the hands of the artist. Our photographers reflected the silent witnesses of nature to their lenses. Our trainees reinterpreted those images with color and form.” Gündüz said that this collective production turned into a strong environmental consciousness movement where art, science and social participation meet.
“This idea started with me, but it was owned, multiplied and grew.” Gündüz, who spoke in the form, thanked the whole team that claimed the project.

Gönyeli-Alayköy Mayor Hüseyin Amcaoğlu pointed out that the exhibition is not only an art activity, but also a vision of a city culture.
Stating that they experienced the excitement of an exhibition that emerged with the common labor of people who believe in nature and art, Amcaoğlu said, “Every city, not only with its ways or buildings, it becomes an identity with its people, culture and nature. As a municipality, we act with the vision of a city that knows and protects the values of the geography.” he said.
